During my residency, I had a profoundly impactful experience when a cancer patient passed away while waiting for prior authorizations for necessary medications that were still being denied. Despite the diligent efforts of three physicians who worked tirelessly to secure approval, their attempts were unsuccessful. This situation made me reflect on the type of medicine I wanted to practice, leading me to reject the constraints imposed by insurance company reimbursements.

Now, I genuinely enjoy every moment of my insurance-free micro practice, where I can focus on providing exceptional care because that’s what my patients deserve.
