We recently had the honor of welcoming a truly special guest – the daughter of Count Nicholas, one of the most iconic circus ringmasters of his time! Her captivating presentation took us behind the curtain of Sarasota’s rich circus legacy, sharing personal stories, rare insights, and a deep connection to the magic that once filled the big top.

As the daughter of a circus legend, Ms. Bonnie (Nicholas) Shine reminded us why Sarasota is often referred to as the Circus Capital of the World. Ms. Shine also served as the long-term Lunch Coordinator at our partner organization, Sarasota Christian School.

This memorable event was made possible through the support of the Sunnyside Foundation, whose continued commitment to enriching our community experiences is deeply appreciated.

Celebrating a monthly team log of 2347 miles!

To celebrate Heart Health Month, over 65 Villagers logged their miles from bicycling, walking, and swimming daily.
In the first week, they logged 313 miles, the equivalent distance to Miami, Florida. Excited with the combined outcome, they tallied miles each week to see how far they could go along the East Coast. At the end of the month, they logged 2347 miles, the distance to Newfoundland, Canada!

Knitting for Missions –The Sunnyside Knitters meet every Tuesday to knit and crochet warm hats of all sizes for a northern mission that provides aid for struggling families.
