Ear Research Foundation Research, Education, and Community Care. The Foundation provides professional conferences, as well as informational community sessions since 1983.

Through our mission of research, education, and community care, the Ear Research Foundation has helped thousands of individuals with hearing loss, balance disorders, and hyperacusis, since 1979. In 1979, the Ear Research Foundation was established in Sarasota, Florida by President and Founder, Dr. Herbert Silverstein. The Foundation was created out of his desire to continue research and development, and to contribute to medical education in a private setting in the field of Otolaryngology. Research and clinical studies have been coordinated by Ear Research Foundation in partnership with Silverstein Institute to discover new diagnostic technologies and treatment for ear care, balance disorders, and tinnitus. The Foundation's Fellows program is one-year interactive clinical and surgical post-residency program, which 48 physicians have participated in since 1983. Hearing screenings, treatments, and surgical procedures and devices provided to those in need, all through our community care programs; Help Us Hear and Hearing Screenings. Help Us Hear provides financial assistance to individuals who need hearing devices. Our community care program, gives hearing screenings to preschoolers annually.

Our Children’s Hearing Clinic provides hearing screenings, and any additional follow-up care or treatment with our physician and audiologist.
The Ear Research Foundation provides the Children's Hearing Clinic and services, at no cost. Appointments are FREE, no insurance or co-payment required.

Dr. Herbert Silverstein founded the Ear Research Foundation to improve the quality of individual’s life by restoring hearing, curing dizziness and vertigo attacks from Meniere’s disease through clinical research. To date, the Foundation has trained 45 post graduate Otolaryngologist in our yearly Fellowship Program under the supervision of Dr. Silverstein, Dr. Wazen or Dr. Rosenberg.
