Today we were honored to welcome the Class of 2027 from The Out-of-Door Academy as part of their service project, “Conversations — Listening as an Act of Service.”

Our residents lit up as these thoughtful 11th grade volunteers spent time sharing stories, listening, and building meaningful connections. Their presence reminded us how powerful simple conversation can be.

We are grateful to be a community partner in this project and deeply appreciate the students and faculty for including our campus in their day of service. 💙

Thank you, ODA Class of 2027, for bringing warmth, kindness, and compassion to our community today!

👻🕸Things got festive as our halls turned into a Halloween parade route filled with boo-tiful group costumes and monster-ous fun! 🧙‍♀️🧛‍♂️
🎃 Our departments went gourd-geous with their carved pumpkin creations! The little trick or treaters from The Learning Tree at Pines of Sarasota joined us for a sweet intergenerational candy handout and our residents had the fang-tastic honor of judging the costume contest at our resident Halloween Party!
Thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a fun and spirited day for all! 🧡💀💜

Pines was honored to host a symposium this week, organized by our very own FHCA Not-for-Profit Vice President and Pines of Sarasota CEO, Mike Ward. We welcomed leaders from the Florida Health Care Association — Florida’s largest and leading advocate for long-term care providers — who traveled from Tallahassee to join us for an insightful panel discussion on the current and future state of long-term care.
We are truly appreciative of their visit and extend our gratitude to our Board members and Pines leadership for their participation and commitment to advancing this important dialogue. Together, we remain committed to shaping the future of long-term care with vision, collaboration, and compassion.

🎉We are so proud to celebrate with our very own Mai Elhassan as she officially became a U.S. Citizen!
Mai’s story is truly inspiring. She came to the United States from Sudan, Africa and joined Pines of Sarasota in August 2022. The Pines was not only her first job in America, but also the place where she quickly shined. Starting as a Cook, Mai’s hard work and dedication led to her promotion to Supervisor just last year.

While she studied English at Manatee Technical College, Mai shared that her real learning came from working side by side with her teammates here at Pines. 💙

Mai, your journey is a beautiful reminder of resilience, growth, and family. We are beyond grateful to have you as part of our Pines family and so proud to cheer you on as you step into this exciting new chapter as an American citizen.
