Who is Meg Young?

Meg understands and specializes in the reducing the effects of burnout among first responders including police, fire fighters, EMS, and 911 dispatchers, medical professionals including doctors and nurses, corrections officers, probation and parole officers, mental health professionals including psychiatrists and therapists, and veterinarians.

Meg has been working in the field of mental health since 2006. During that time she has enjoyed employment in several types of agencies including in-home work, drug and alcohol detox/counseling, and crisis management inpatient hospitalization.

Currently, Meg maintains part time work at an inpatient facility in Bradenton, FL and a drug/alcohol rehab center in Riverview FL, along with enjoying a gratifying private practice in Sarasota, FL and online seeing people throughout FL and CT.

Meg is certified in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) which is a technique very helpful in resolving trauma (including witnessed trauma such as seeing the after effects of a car accident, and hearing about a traumatic event that happened to someone else). She is also trained in CPT (cognitive processing therapy), CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy), MI (Motivational interviewing), and SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy)
