Have you tried "physical therapy" in the past and experienced what far too many others have also experienced? I'm talking about this:
You go in and wait in a boring waiting room until you're called back. Then you start your session for 10 minutes on a heat pack or riding a bike watching other people around you get told what exercises to do. Then you MIGHT spend 10-15 minutes with your therapist getting some manual treatment or discussing how you've been feeling. Then you're passed off to a tech, an aid or an intern for the remainder of your session and perform the same exercises you're already doing at home that aren't really moving the needle for you. Then, at the end, you either head back home or you spend 10 minutes on a TENS unit with a cold pack knowing that in just a few days they want you to come in and repeat the process all over again.
☝️THAT is what traditional physical therapy looks like and it's a model that has developed in efforts to make up for declining insurance reimbursement rates and the fact that clinics have to see more people to remain profitable. What does that lead to? A focus on QUANTITY over QUALITY. Who suffers? The patients suffer. Most don't know any better and just go with the frustrating flow. However, there is a FAR better option for an optimal experience as well as outcomes and we offer that here at Your Place Physical Therapy.
Every visit is 1-on-1 for a full hour with a doctor of physical therapy. No hot or cold packs, no techs or interns and no cookie-cutter exercise routines that you can do on your own at home. We guide our clients through higher level exercises that target their goals and functional needs, we spend most of our time performing skilled manual therapies and regenerative medicine interventions (shockwave and dry needling) that our clients can't do on their own but also facilitate relief and improved function. We follow-up with our clients after every visit and check in on them periodically to show how dedicated we are to them and their results. We do ALL the right stuff, the right way.
