Hi all my wonderful friends. I know there is so much devastation going on right now. The Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota County, Inc. has seen so many people coming in our offices that have lost everything. We have given out so many diapers, wipes, food, gift cards to get food that our supplies are running low. We NEED help! We are in need of so many baby basics. If you have the means, please send support now! We have people that have lost their homes and don’t even have clothes. Isn’t it so crazy to not even have diapers? Love you all and prayers to all those affected.

Happy 30th Birthday, Florida Healthy Start Coalitions! From South Florida to Tallahassee, we’re celebrating! We were delighted to meet with Florida's Speaker of the House Chris Sprowls, a champion for Florida's families, and the force behind the historic bipartisan 2021 extension of Medicaid benefits for pregnant women, for one year after the birth of their baby. As Speaker Sprowls noted, "“Every baby should have the opportunity to be born – healthy. And every mother should have the maternal health care she needs to set up herself, her family, and her child to thrive,” said Speaker Chris Sprowls, a Republican from Palm Harbor. “The Florida House is proud to stand together in support of moms and babies across our state, and we are thankful for the work that groups like Healthy Start have done and will do with our investment to bring vital health care services within the reach of more mothers.”

Since Florida’s Legislature created Healthy Start in 1991, we’ve helped to DECREASE infant deaths and INCREASE full term births. Remember... Healthy Start serves ALL of Florida’s moms, babies and families! Through education and support programs, nutritional counseling, smoking cessation and so much more, Healthy Start helps provide a crucial safety net for Florida’s moms, babies, and families!
