💙 Care led by a board-certified OB/GYN and team of experienced clinicians
💙 Support for high-risk pregnancies and underinsured/uninsured patients
💙 Continuous support from prenatal care through postpartum recovery

✨ From tiny hand squeezes to heartfelt smiles, Santa shared precious moments and photos with our babies and their families, bringing comfort, cheer and a little holiday magic to the hospital halls.

❤️🎁 SMH’s Pregnancy Care Team and First 1000 Days Suncoast joined the MITER Foundation to host a heartwarming holiday celebration for many of the families we’ve had the privilege of supporting this year!

From children doing crafts and decorating cookies, to photos with Santa, the day was filled with joy and meaningful moments for everyone. 🎅

A special thank you to the MITER Foundation for sponsoring the event and generously volunteering time; Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation for championing community partnerships; and First 1,000 Days Suncoast for supporting families throughout pregnancy and their child’s first 1,000 days of life — helping every child start strong.

Families who deliver at SMH are given a brain development bag designed to support their child's cognitive growth from the very start?

Thanks to the First 1000 Days Suncoast initiative and it's partnership with Sarasota County Government & Friends of the Venice Public Library, we are able to include books inside of the brain development bags. Not only does reading to your baby from the very beginning create a strong bond between parent and child, but it also lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning!

🌼🏆 Congrats to Leah Brown, BSN, RN, RNC-MCC, CBC, for earning the by going above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families!

Leah was recognized by a new mom who described her as a constant source of calm, compassion and advocacy during two deeply meaningful chapters of her motherhood journey. After the birth of her first daughter in 2022 — who was born with a cleft palate — Leah’s steady reassurance and hands-on support helped her navigate a challenging time. Two years later, they reunited as Leah cared for her second baby as the lactation nurse; her expertise and genuine care once again made all the difference.
