Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming our first patient from the Bahamas for a breast cancer screening. A dedicated advocate for enhanced screening access in her home country, she shared the devastating impact of multiple hurricanes that damaged critical medical and breast screening equipment. This destruction has severely restricted women’s access to preventive screenings, resulting in a higher incidence of stage 4 breast cancer diagnoses. She passionately expressed her hope—and we share her vision—for improved breast cancer screening infrastructure in the Bahamas, ensuring every woman has access to early detection and timely treatment when needed.
