🎉 Congrats to the 2026 Research and Innovation Award Honorees who were recently recognized at Sarasota Memorial’s 4th Annual Interprofessional Research Conference!

More than 400 healthcare professionals gathered at the Kolschowsky Research & Education Institute for a day dedicated to groundbreaking research, clinical innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

👏👏 This year’s conference featured more than 110 research posters and 20 presentations from physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other clinicians, with attendees representing over 25 organizations across the region.

đź’™ The countdown to Epic is officially on at Sarasota Memorial!

To thank staff for the hard work and preparation leading up to SMH’s upcoming transition to Epic — the industry’s leading electronic health record provider and top-ranked for customer satisfaction — recently came together for Epic-themed Food Truck Rallies and special lunch deliveries.

When Epic launches later this year, patients will gain access to Epic’s MyChart, a user-friendly patient portal widely used across the U.S. MyChart allows patients and providers to securely access and update health records in one place, creating a more connected, coordinated and streamlined healthcare experience while also supporting high-quality care through advanced tools and technology.

Behind the scenes, staff have spent months planning, training and collaborating to help ensure a smooth and seamless transition when Epic goes live throughout the health system this Fall.

❤️ In honor of , members of Sarasota Memorial’s trauma team gathered alongside survivors Brian, Naomi, Nick and Tony to celebrate strength, resilience and recovery.

During the event, Naomi shared her powerful recovery story after surviving a golf cart accident that left her with a brain bleed, an arm injury and serious fractures and instability in her neck. Through months of intensive healing, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, Naomi returned to daily activities and school, and continues to thrive one year after surgery.

💬 “I didn't believe there was any coming back,” Naomi shared. “But my family, friends, doctors and nurses all believed in me. They saw a light in me I couldn’t even see in myself.”

👏 🏆 Congrats to our latest TEA ROSE Award winner, Renzo Mendoza, MST at SMH-Venice.

The "TEA ROSE" award — or Technician Excellence Award Recognizing Outstanding Service & Experience — is a nomination-based honor given to standout technicians.

Renzo’s passion for patient care was discovered while helping in the cafeteria. From the moment he stepped into his role as an MST, he showed an eagerness to learn and a genuine dedication to supporting both patients and his team.
