I had the pleasure of hosting a colleague from Ukraine 🇺🇦. Dr. Illia Petrenko is a talented oculoplastic surgeon from Kiev, who visited Sarasota for a few days to observe surgery. He saw several facelifts, blepharoplasties and reconstructive procedures. It was a pleasure to have him visit. We stand with Ukraine. I even received a beautiful T-shirt!

Nice trip with Allergan teaching to NJ: Newark, Edgewater, Hoboken, New Jersy City. Action packed few days doing cadaver dissection course with live filler injections. It was such a pleasure working with outstanding cofaculty. A Roundtable dinner and 2 AMI trainings. Thanks to the wonderful A Team lead by RM Nick and BDM Ava. Great NJ energy discussing a myriad of topics.

Interesting new Ophthalmic Technology Assessment in Ophthalmology, the Journal of the AAO. It discusses vision loss secondary to facisl fillers. It mirrors the conclusions of our first Eye CODE article published in JAAD a few years ago, and yes, we just published an update on it in JCD. Basically there are recognized areas of the face that are more prone to filler induced vision loss, such as the glabella. Prognosis is poor with NLP vision, so prevention is key!

Subtlety makes all the difference in regard to facial cosmetic surgery. A small incision brow lift brightens the eyes and does not look "done." Add a lower lid blepharoplasty and the results are refreshed. This 1 hour surgery has long lasting results past a decade.

I really enjoyed my trip to Denver with Allergan, discussing Botox Cosmetic and Juvederm fillers. I got to see friends like Dr. Mike McCracken, a great oculoplastic surgeon in Colorado, and revisit the amazing Glozzhous full service med spa run by the amazing Loni. Special thanks to RMs Rob and Miranda and BDM Kristen for setting up the training, dinner, and Master Course. I had the privilege of teaching anatomy and injection techniques with Star AMI Faculty Dr. James Bazzi, Amy Hatcher and Ali McCoy. Shout out to Nick and Brittney for executing a fun full day of learning and cadaver class at a packed Master Course! We even got to see Dr. Moss sing; she's got the voice of an angel and is in my MOB, Master of Botox, family. Yes, im the grandfather of the family!😅

Nice article on the potential role of Accessory proteins with BoNT. They may play a greater purpose than just protecting the core protein from degradation in the gut. They actually might be beneficial in increasing endopeptidase activity and enhancing efficacy of the Neurotoxin, in addition to limiting or controlling the field of effect.

A goal of surgery is to look younger. That doesn't mean 20 years old, but turning back the clock 10 years helps. Realistic results, some lighting, no makeup. Eye more open, skin smoother and jawline and neck tighter. A winning combo!
