Easterseals Southwest Florida’s Main (Braden Avenue) Campus will be closed to Lily Preschool students, Adult Day Training clients, and all other main campus programs from Thursday, May 21 through Tuesday, May 26 due to ongoing campus construction.

In honor of National Police Week, we were honored to welcome the Sarasota Police Department to campus this week to share with our Bigs and Littles about the importance of their work and service to our community.

Today, our flags are flown at half-staff in recognition of National Peace Officers Memorial Day, established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 to honor the law enforcement officers who have lost their lives or become disabled in the line of duty.

We are grateful for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women in law enforcement. Thank you for all you do to keep our communities safe. 💙

What an incredible day at Easterseals for Let’s Make Music, a Suncoast Remake Learning Days Event! On Saturday, April 25, approximately 20 families joined us for a fun-filled, inclusive celebration where school-age children, of all abilities, created and decorated egg shakers and hand drums, then took part in an interactive drum circle.

From exploring rhythm and learning catchy tunes to making music together as a community, the energy and excitement were unforgettable. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special!

What a memorable day we had at the Easterseals Festival for All! Held in celebration of Autism Acceptance Month, this community festival brought families, friends, and neighbors together for a day filled with inclusive fun, connection, and celebration. Guests enjoyed a LEGO building station, a glow-in-the-dark disco, face painting, a crafts room, and so much more.

Festival for All welcomed people of all ages and all abilities to enjoy a vibrant day celebrating the strength of our community and supporters. A special thank you to our volunteers, whose dedication helped make the day so special for everyone who attended.

May is moving quickly, but there are still limited opportunities remaining for free autism screenings for children up to 18 years old through Easterseals Southwest Florida.

If you’ve been considering a screening, now is the time to schedule

May 18 • 5 PM–7 PM
May 19 • 4 PM–7 PM
May 26 • 4 PM–7 PM
May 30 • 9 AM–12 PM

Early identification opens the door to support, services, and hope. After each screening, families receive case management, resources, and education to help guide next steps. Funded by the Florida Department of Health.

Our friends at Bentley Sarasota are hosting a FREE “Mom Prom” on May 15th, a special evening dedicated to honoring the moms, grandmothers, teachers, therapists, and caregivers who pour so much love and energy into supporting children with unique abilities.

This event was inspired by a local dad who sees firsthand the dedication it takes to show up every day and wanted to create a night just for YOU to feel celebrated, appreciated, and uplifted.
