Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day!

“Every week in 2022, the equivalent of a high school classroom's worth of students — an average of 22 adolescents — died of drug overdoses in the United States.” (The Overdose Crisis among U.S. Adolescents, Friedman and Hadland, M.D., M.P.H, 2023.)

Fentanyl is a very strong synthetic opioid that is often illegally mixed into drugs purchased on the street, online, or from fake pharmacy sites—often leading to unintentional drug overdoses and even death.

Illegally produced fentanyl is especially dangerous because…
👄You can't see, taste, or smell it
✏️The deadly dose is small enough to fit on the tip of a pencil
To better understand the dangers of illicit fentanyl, how to avoid an overdose, and how to help save a life, you can visit the Stanford REACH Lab website: tinyurl.com/REACHLabHome

It was an honor to begin recognition of crime victim’s rights week by supporting individuals and their families impacted by crime. Through our partnership with STOP DWI New York and Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, we help facilitate 10 victim impact panels every year. Thank you to the Saratoga County NY Government for inviting us so we can show our support and offer services to our community like violence and SUD prevention education in our schools, through our Students Against Destructive Decisions chapters, and support services at our Healing Springs Recovery Community & Outreach Center.
