The life meant for you is created by choosing how you want to feel, no matter what.
Recently, I was called up on stage at the end of a Ladysmith Black Mambazo show at .
If you’ve ever seen them, you know how precisely synchronized every aspect of what they do is, from their signature a ca****la vocal style to their perfectly coordinated dance moves and high-kicking stomps.
And then there was me.
I like to think I have decent rhythm, but my attempts to keep up were, at best, wildly off. I was sweating under the lights, in front of a packed room, fully aware of how it probably looked.
And I had an absolute blast!
That moment could have easily turned into crushing embarrassment, the kind you replay later and cringe. But I let my internal desires of feeling adventurous and free determine how I told the story, to myself and others. And from that place, the “embarrassment” became a tiny footnote in what was actually a really fun, once-in-a-lifetime experience. I don’t know when if ever I’ll be on stage again with 5-time Grammy Award winners, but I do know I’ll say YES if I’m ever asked!
This is the work I do with my clients. We get clear on the feeling you’re actually after—because that’s what’s driving every goal, every achievement, every “next level” you think you want. Then we build your capacity to live from that feeling—consistently, intentionally—so what you want externally can fall into place without all the pressure you’ve been carrying.
And just as importantly, we clear what gets in the way. Because this isn’t about pretending life is all light and easy from there on out. Things will still go sideways. That’s part of being human.
But when old patterns, emotional residue, and inherited dynamics aren’t running the show, you respond differently. You come back to yourself faster. You can return to the way you actually want to feel, regardless of what’s happening around you.
You’re not trying to become someone new. You’re finally free to be who you already are.
