Congratulations to our 2025 NP of the Year award recipient, Graig Straus, DNP, APRN, FCUCM!

Dr. Straus is dual board certified as Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner. He is the Founder and CEO of Rockland Urgent Care Family NP, P.C., Straus Family Health NP. P.C, and Luna Wellness Spa. Since 2021 he has been the Medical Director of the North Rockland Central School District.

Dr. Straus serves with the National Disaster Medical Assistance Team and remains a medical officer with the Monsey Fire Department and a life member of Spring Hill Ambulance Corps, responding to thousands of calls. He is also an emergency nurse practitioner with Uman Emergency Medical Clinic in Unman, Ukraine, contributing his expertise.

Dr. Straus is deeply committed to the promotion and mentorship of nurse practitioners and has served as a clinical preceptor for more than 20 universities and graduate nursing programs. He is passionate about mentoring the next generation of clinicians, advancing urgent care practices, and supporting community preparedness. Whether it’s in the clinic, at the firehouse, or on a national deployment, Graig’s mission remains the same: provide compassionate care when people need it most. He is a prolific writer and national speaker and has published work with a focus on independent practice, healthcare access and professional development for nurse practitioners.

Dr. Straus has been a member of The NPA since 2012 (Region 5, Lower Hudson Valley Group) and will be recognized at the NPA NP25 Annual Conference on Saturday, October 18 during the NPA annual membership meeting at the Saratoga Hilton, Saratoga Springs, NY.
