I had a relaxing 4 day getaway to one of my favorite cities, Montreal! I stayed at Le Mount Stephen hotel, which has a super sexy lounge and elegant restaurant named Bar George.

I climbed Cathedral Rock, walked Transept trail, on Halloween night walked Turkey Hill trail with friends, and visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross. Oh my and the food!!! The food was scrumptious!

Autumn is my favorite season and it’s another beautiful autumn weekend in upstate New York 🍂 This time I ventured out to the Northern Catskills for a leisurely hike around Kaaterskill Falls. My last visit to the Falls was this summer. It looked bright and stunning amongst the autumn foliage 😍. I felt invigorating being in nature after a long week with my workouts indoors. Movement gives me energy.
What are you doing to recharge this weekend?

It was a gorgeous autumn weekend in New York capital region. I rejuvenated over the weekend with a relaxing hike up Buck mountain, and chilled out on the summit overlooking Lake George losing myself in meditation 🧘🏾‍♀️ feeling grateful to experience God’s creation of beautiful nature ♥️🙏🏾 . The next day I strolled along the trails in Saratoga State park, my fav, stopping to drink at a couple of the natural mineral springs.

Sometimes a day with impromptu events makes a perfect day. I started my Saturday participating in the March On For Brain Injury Walk at Walkway Over The Hudson in Highland, NY. They raised a lot of $$$ to support families living with brain injuries. I then decided to keep heading down south to NYC for a quick visit to see one of my daughters. From her place, we walked to the Met Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park where we viewed incredibly beautiful medieval European architecture and art pieces. What made it even better, we ran into long time friends from the past whom we hadn’t seen for a bit over 10 years but now we’re reconnected! It was so, so lovely. After the museum closed we walked south and landed at Sofrito where we had an extremely yummy dinner. The service and food were done to perfection! We sat on the terrace taking in the view of the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge as the sun set. Then the bridge lit up 🤩 If you love Puerto Rican food, Sofrito is the place to go!… ♥️

As my Monday ends, I am still coming off of my weekend highs. I had a full weekend and got to spend some time with my daughters 💖 💖 This weekend my activities started off with late Friday afternoon time on to shake off the hectic week. The next day I visited my baby girl to help her finish settling into the university housing, then the following day I met my older daughter with my sister and nephew at the New York Renaissance Fair. I am happy and feel blessed that both my daughters have settled nicely into their new space and ready to start their continued academics 👩🏽‍🏫 🌟👩🏽‍🏫 🌟

After a failed attempt a few years ago to climb 3 peaks in one day in the Santanoni range, on July 4th we completed the attempt by successfully climbing the 3rd peak - Panther peak. We clocked a little over 12 miles. The conditions were a whole lot better than when we last did the climb. There was no snow!
So far we’ve climbed 17 high peaks together.

Doing the CHINMOY 12 hour challenge this weekend with very little to no training was a challenge within itself. I came to this event unprepared with only my routine daily 5 hour power walks of 4 to 8 miles some of which were run/walk intervals and 5 days a week weight training with 15 minute yoga.

I completed 38.3 miles during which there was a torrential rain fall, but it didn’t stop anyone on the course. Each of us pushing on to see how long and far we could go. After 10 and a half hours, I tapped out.

I surprised myself because I didn’t think I would have made it that far with no distance training. I did have the support of my fitness tribe as always. Cheers to us for surpassing our own personal goals 😃

Having done many endurance events throughout the years, I am still amazed of how one’s body can go beyond the limits one thinks. It makes me think how many of us prevent ourselves from changing our wishes to goals. I end this post with a phrase from Sri Chinmoy himself:
“If we believe in our own Self-transcendence-task, then there can be no unreachable goal.”
