🌕 We will gather under the pink full moon to share gratitude, release what no longer serves us, and set intention through journaling, meditation, breathwork, medicine drumming, and - of course - alchemy by FIRE 🔥

Yesterday’s KOS team adventure at the NYC sauna village by did not disappoint! We laughed, we sang, we ate noodles … but most importantly, we deeply soaked in the goodness and magic that sharing sweat with our brothers and sisters brings!

Thank you Sophia for joining this crazy ride, you are truly a Dream Team and blow me away every day with your resourcefulness and good humor 🫶🏼

We stand with our Minnesota brothers and sisters, and with immigrant communities around the country, against fear and domestic terrorism. On Friday, January 30, KOS will donate 50% of sales to the New York Immigration Coalition in solidarity with today’s national shutdown.

Sauna dissolves boundaries between people by creating an environment for authentic and respectful connection. We applaud our peers around the country for creating safe spaces for people to connect with others who may be different. It is not a small act ❤️

These have been 2.5 incredible months, and we are just getting started building a strong and respectful sauna culture at KOS. Here are some guidelines to elevate your next experience with us, and that of your fellow guests:

🔥 Warm, cold, rest, repeat. Listen to your body and don’t overdo it.
👯‍♂️ Try to get into the flow with everyone else.
🧘 Keep the sauna tidy and tranquil.
🤫 Keep a respectful, low voice when talking.
🙏 Sit on a towel.
✅ DO bring inside: a towel and sauna hat (if desired).
🚫 DO NOT bring inside: water bottles, electronics, shoes, jewelery, and glasses.
✊ Respect the Kosierge on duty. We are here for your safety and enjoyment.

Thanks sauna buddies for helping us build a welcoming environment and inclusive community. We are so grateful for you and look forward to welcoming you to the warmth soon!

🌿 Last week, Bjørnar treated us to a whisking ritual! A whisk (Finnish: vihta) is a bundle of branches used to strike the skin while inside the sauna, stimulating circulation, massaging sore muscles, and releasing a gorgeous scent. Here, we used three different types of vihtas - birch, eucalyptus, and oak.

🔥 As always, our Harvia 50 wood-burning stove diligently and enthusiastically powered the occasion. There’s no better smell than steamy birch and eucalyptus leaves in the sauna.

📆 we will add whisking rituals to the weekly calendar in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more sessions like these at KOS!

A massive thank you to the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, Discover Saratoga, city, state, and Congressional representatives, press, and our dear sauna buddies, for joining our ribbon-cutting ceremony today as we mark the start of our journey to inspire joy, health, and connection in Saratoga Springs and the Capital Region.Over the past eight weeks, this community has blown us away with their bravery, support, kindness, and generosity. We are only just getting started on our journey and invite you all to join us. Thank you to everyone who walks through our doors and sweats on our benches - we hope you leave feeling transformed in some way!
