Some people are not aware of the difference between the "affordable" $30 massage, and the "expensive" $100 massage. The huge difference in cost comes down to the value of the therapist. The $100 therapist may consider things like: your medical history, your social/emotional lifestyle, and habitual postures and movement patterns you inhabit. They may work with an in-depth anatomical knowledge which allows them to come up with customized strategies to solve your problem. They may utilize a variety of powerful tools that effectively work on one layer of your body before moving deeper into your tissues. They may work with a strong and grounded presence that facilitates the release of any stuck emotions that can surface and pass during deep work. They may give you detailed homework assignments after the session so that you can personally make effort to retain progress you've made with them. They may encourage and inspire lifestyle changes you've been meaning to make by providing practical solutions towards it.
And the $30 therapist may just do- well, a $30 job. Hand you a cup of water, ask you to tip, and leave a yelp review.
You will know of a good therapist when you meet one. They will tend to charge more than the $30 therapist because the $100 therapist has invested more into themselves to expand their skills, knowledge and expertise.
📌With that being said, which type of massage therapy are you looking for and why? What types of problems have you had solved with $30? What kinds of problems could you not solve with $100?
📌Tag someone you know who is paying $30 or less for their massage sessions. Or tag someone you know who is paying $100 or more for their massage sessions.

This is Spinal Cord Breathing - a very powerful warm up I learned from . It mobilizes, oxygenates and energizes your entire spine, and it's a beautiful warm up you can do first thing in the morning, or midday when your energy starts falling. Bonus points for practicing Spinal Cord Breathing in nature so you can breathe in quality oxygen.
Instructions - Breathe in while you curve the spine, Breathe out while you extend it, stick your tail bone out and up to mobilize the coccyx. You can also reverse the breathing, as you breathe out while you curve the spine, and take in oxygen when you extend.
Inhale and Exhale is one set. Do 9 Sets, 18 Sets or 36 Sets in one session.

I know you're thinking 'bout them.. I definitely am.

Annual resolutions can be a disciplinary roller coaster. The emotional and mental stress we feel from expectations put on ourselves can be just as harmful as it can be motivating.

The nicer way to go about this year's is to keep things simple. Instead of goals that require drastic changes to your current lifestyle, try picking less than a handful of healthy habits to integrate. There's always one or two small things you can do everyday to exponentially benefit the overall quality of your health.

One way I implement habits is through (those on my snapchat already know). A low risk, low cost 7 day challenge, or a more committed 30 day challenge are fun ways I've used in the past to ingrain empowering habits. I've made a challenge for pretty much any change I wanted in my life; cold showers, cold approaching, intermittent fasting, creative writing and meditation.

Though I'm far from perfect with attendance, what I like about challenges is that it allows me to set reference points of what physical, mental and spiritual well-being is like.
A daily immersion into small, doable practices- especially in the mornings, allows me to dictate the vibration of the entire day.

What are some of your health goals for 2018?

Spring time is here!

A time of renewal, rejoicing in the longer days and stimulating aromas of the blooming nay-cha. Spring stands for the vision of growth and rebirth after the depth and introspection we experienced within throughout winter. The seeds of change that we planted in ourselves now build up momentum to spring through with new life-force. With this building up of energy, it is common to feel pressure in your life externally or internally. Whether it's a new change you've recently welcomed in your life, or a long-time goal you're now seeing through its beta stages, this pressure is akin to the forces that bring the virgin green color back into the leaves of a tree, the same force that fills up the tree with sap of life.

Spring brings you into your element of Wood. The power of wood is gentle, persistent, and filled with creative potential. It has the power of both being and becoming—of being true to your own nature and becoming more yourself by clearly expressing your inner needs and desires. Wood gently penetrates the earth to bring forth water, the source of all life. Drawing from our roots, we find the energy to push forward with strength and firmness of purpose, always remaining supple, yielding, and true to our nature.
