Three months post Deep Plane Facelift & Fat Transfer with Dr. Elbert Cheng, and our patient looks incredible!

A deep plane facelift works below the surface, releasing and repositioning the deeper facial tissues as a single unit. This restores the cheeks to their natural position and removes heaviness along the lower face. UNWANTED Fat Loss with Thermage | Episode 2: Breakfast at Cheng's

This patient came to us concerned that his eyes made him appear “angry” and “unapproachable.” His goal was to look more open, refreshed, and approachable, without looking like he had work done.

Dr. Elbert Cheng achieved this with a customized combination of procedures, including:
Upper Blepharoplasty: Removed excess upper eyelid skin that was causing a heavy, hooded look, instantly brightening his eyes.
Transconjunctival Lower Blepharoplasty with Fat Repositioning: Rather than removing fat and risking a hollowed appearance, the under-eye fat was carefully repositioned to smooth puffiness and reduce shadows while preserving a youthful contour.

1 month post CO2 laser resurfacing + panfacial fat grafting

This patient came in concerned about hollowing along the lateral face and was initially considering a facelift, but ultimately decided against it. Dr. Jacqueline Cheng designed a customized, less invasive approach using fat grafting to the temples, zygoma, malar grooves, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and prejowl sulcus, paired with CO2 laser resurfacing.⁠

By restoring volume where it’s been lost and improving skin quality, this combination helps reestablish natural facial structure and soft contours: key elements of a youthful appearance. We’re checking back in with this gorgeous patient after a comprehensive facial rejuvenation with Dr. Elbert Cheng, including a Deep Plane Facelift, Deep Plane Neck Lift, Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty, Lip Lift, Corner of the Mouth Lift, Fat Contouring, and CO2 resurfacing.

At the 3-month mark, patients are typically entering a really exciting phase of healing: when results start to look less like surgery and more like a natural, refreshed version of themselves.

Here’s what’s happening at this stage:

Swelling has significantly improved, though subtle residual swelling (especially in the lower face and around the eyes) can still be present and will continue to refine over the coming months.

Incisions are healing beautifully and continue to fade. Makeup can usually be worn comfortably, and most patients feel confident returning fully to their normal routines and social activities.

Skin quality is noticeably improved following CO2 resurfacing. Texture, tone, and fine lines continue to get better as collagen remodeling progresses.

The deeper structural work from the Facelift and Neck Lift is settling into place, revealing more defined contours along the jawline and neck while maintaining natural movement and expression.

Lip lift and corner of mouth lift results begin to feel more “like you,” with improved balance and a softer, more rested appearance.

Most importantly, this is when patients often start to feel like themselves again; just more refreshed, lifted, and confident.

And while things already look incredible, healing is still ongoing. Final results continue to evolve over 6–12 months
