Ultrasound Services Returning to NPVMC

We’re excited to share that ultrasound services will soon be available again at North Platte Valley Medical Center.

This important diagnostic tool plays a vital role in patient care, and we are committed to ensuring our community once again has local access to this service.

Ultrasounds will be available by appointment two days a week.

At NPVMC, our mission is to provide quality, compassionate care close to home. We know how much it means to our patients and families to receive the services they need without having to travel far. The return of ultrasound is another step in fulfilling that promise and strengthening healthcare in our valley.

NPVMC currently has swing beds open!

Our swing bed program is designed to help when a patient is no longer in need of acute care in a hospital, however, still in need of more rehabilitation before returning home. We also have physical and occupational therapy on-site Monday-Friday to help with recovery.

Even if a patient has a three-night qualifying stay in another hospital, they can come back to the North Platte Valley Medical Center in Saratoga for swing bed services.

Medicare allows a 30-day post-discharge timeframe, meaning, a patient has 30 days post a three-night qualifying stay to be able to utilize swing bed services if it is qualified by Medicare.

Lots of fun and donkey nuzzles on the patio at NPVMC!

Our extended care residents had the most delightful visit with some very special guests – Staci and the donkeys from Hee Haw Place Donkey Rescue. Seeing the residents’ smiles, laughter, and gentle interactions was truly heartwarming.

We love creating these moments that bring happiness and connection to our residents. A huge thank you to Staci for sharing her donkeys with us, and to our amazing Extended Care Activities Director Brittnee Palmer for organizing this wonderful meet and greet.

With 10 years of healthcare experience in Nevada and Wyoming, Brittnee brings a passion for connecting with residents and making a difference in their daily lives. In her role, she creates meaningful activities that support engagement, joy, and quality of life for our extended care residents.

Outside of work, Brittnee enjoys spending time with her family outdoors – hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking – or reading a good book.

We’re glad to have Brittnee on the NPVMC team! 🙌

Coming to the Platte Valley in 2021

The North Platte Valley Medical Center will be located at the intersection of West Bridge Ave and N. 13th Street in Saratoga on 7.8 acres of land.

When it’s completed in 2021, the North Platte Valley Medical Center will be the most up-to-date medical campus in southeastern Wyoming. In addition to a 24-hour emergency room, NPVMC will offer advanced imaging capabilities, including ultrasound, X-ray, MRI and CT, and feature an inpatient pharmacy, laboratories and physical and occupational therapy facilities.

The North Platte Valley Medical Center will be staffed with both fulltime doctors and mid-level providers as well as professional staff in all other healthcare positions. The 25 beds will be allocated between acute care and long-term care, enabling NPVMC to offer nursing home services to local residents.

The Saratoga Care Center and Platte Valley Clinic staff will join the North Platte Valley Medical Center team when the new facility opens.
