Once again the roads are icy and treacherous today. We will all be late getting there. If the roads are too dangerous where you're driving from, please don't risk coming in. It's easy to reschedule!

Due to the extreme cold weather, and uncleared side roads, we don't expect anyone on the schedule to make it in tomorrow, Monday, 1/15/2024. If you do happen to make it in, Dr Hamlin and Chey will likely be there, but may not be on time. Other staff may be late or not in at all, depending on weather factors in their commute.

If it is, in your judgement, too dangerous to get out, then please stay safely at home.

We now have all new staff and we're getting things cleaned up and reorganized. We're also getting to the phones a lot better now. Please continue to bear with us as we grow!

If you or anyone you know was previously screened out by the previous staff, please know that it was without Dr Hamlin's permission or knowledge and we encourage you to call us again! We've already had a lot of new patients join us since the new staff started!

We would like to ask that while you bear with us on this transition, please don't call our phones repeatedly. Our phone is ringing off the hook and we cannot get things done such as hiring new staff because of it. Our voicemail is currently full. We will return calls in order of priority ASAP.

Please bear with us while we make changes. All staff quit with extremely short notice, so there's only two of us trying to do everything. We'll be a bit slow until we can get more new staff hired and dig through the mess we were left. Thanks for understanding!

From Dr Hamlin:

It has come to my attention that a very dangerous medical myth is making its way around Facebook and other internet sites.

Due to the infant formula shortage, people with agendas are claiming that goat's milk is a direct substitute for both formula and breast milk. This is completely false.

Breast milk is absolutely the best for infants until six months of age. After six months, baby food can be introduced along with infant formula. After 12 months, cow's milk (or even goat's milk) can be introduced, along with more solid foods if tooth development is adequate.

Goat's millk is very deficient in key nutrients as compared to breast milk and even infant formula. This includes B12, folate, iron, and D. It is very dangerous to feed goat's milk to a child under 12 months of age.

At Asclepius, our higher standards of care include reviewing lab values in person with the expert doctor. This is essential in medicine. There really is no such thing as thumbs up, all normal, or anything like that for most labs. If you are only told your labs are "all normal," that should be a huge red flag. Labs aren't as simple as "in range" and "out of range." Often the ranges are wrong or at least misinformative.

By our standards of care, your health is more important than that and requires a full discussion with you, including what to expect next and what health options you have.

Never accept anything less than a full, in person discussion with a board certified medical doctor who understands the meaning of every lab you have done!
