Hi everyone. You are all probably wondering why you received an invitation to this page. If you have received an invitation, you are among some of the people who have had a major impact on my career in healthcare or my life in general.
If you know me very well, you know how much my life has been impacted by nursing. One of the Greatest and most challenging areas for me in nursing has always been long-term care. It hurts my heart to go home at night thinking there are not enough people to make a difference. Trying over and over to balance PPD with acuity and failing miserably.
Some of you are some of the greatest nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners and healthcare workers I’ve ever worked with. I feel in my heart long-term care is failing our elderly. It is not at all for lack of trying to make a difference.
I am not in any way trying to belittle anyone that works in long-term care. I have sent invites out to you all because you either impact long-term care, work with the elderly, or are elderly and have a 100% input into the care you receive. I pray you never have to be placed in LTC but if you do I hope we can have a better balance by the time you need LTC.
Please help by inviting others to join, pray for our elderly, if you would like to weigh in post the top 3 things you feel are the roadblocks to excellent care .
I truly believe there is might in numbers. Together we can make change happen.
