Lake Waynoka

Lake Waynoka The official page for WPOA/WRWSD, or as we're better known - Lake Waynoka. Membership status takes just one lot and lots may have multiple owners.

Lake Waynoka is a property owners association governed by a nine person board of trustees. This board is elected from and by the property owners in good standing, and meets each month to update and inform members on current issues and future plans. Our community allows lot ownership for member status, as well as ownership for intention to build. Water and sewer lines travel near all roads and allo

w for hookup throughout the lake. With 2,400 acres, more than 4,000 lots, over 50 miles of paved roads and 700 homes, Lake Waynoka is a perfect place to build a full time residence, the relaxing summer retreat or your gateway into healthy and soothing activities. Staffed by full time administration, recreational, maintenance, security and police department, our community provides superb amenities to the entire community. A 24-hour private gate, operated by our security and police department, monitors access to the lake and in addition patrols the entire lake in intervals, giving property owners peace of mind. Lake Waynoka is located in the Eastern Brown School District, which includes elementary locations in Russellville and Sardinia and both middle and high schools only a short drive away. Residents allow their children the opportunity to attend an outstanding school district right in their own backyard. Eastern Brown schools have a long tradition of being recognized in academics, activities and sports. While a number of our residents choose to travel to their careers in Cincinnati, Milford, Hillsboro and Maysville, many others maintain their careers within Brown County with employers such as Stanley Tools, Pepsi, Rumpke, Brown County Regional Health Care and others. Our relaxed residential community makes maintaining a superior career possible.

Lake Waynoka Community,

As announced on May 18th, the WPOA Board had acknowledged receipt of a petition that was submitted for consideration. It was explained that those signatures would need to be properly vetted for accuracy to ensure nothing fraudulent or inaccurate was being counted.

After further review, we found fraudulent entries, duplicate entries, and even names that don’t match any resident or member at Lake Waynoka. This took the real, actual signatures down from the 340+ being touted to 230. As such, this petition is deemed inadequate and officially rejected. Per our legal counsel, we were instructed we didn’t have to accept the Change.org submissions, but we decided to test the numbers, and even with those included, we arrived at 230 real submissions. Our Secretary has also signed off on this final rejection of the petition.

Attempts to defraud our membership or our organization will not be tolerated by this Board. Fortunately, this saves our membership thousands of dollars in mailing fees to each member, as well as the time involved with our Election Committee.

Our commitment to you remains the same….we are working hard to KEEP MOVING FORWARD so we can all enjoy an ever-improving lake during our tenure and thereafter.

Sincerely,
WPOA Board of Trustees

Marina Fuel Update:

Unforeseen circumstances win.

We hired a company to drain and clean the tank, and during that process it was discovered that there is a broken seal on one of the tank caps.

While we do not believe any water has entered the tank, we do not want to put any boats at risk of receiving contaminated fuel. Out of an abundance of caution, a new cap and gasket will be installed on Tuesday.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.

🏊‍♂️ Pool Update! Friday 5.22.26
🕛 12:15 PM

As of right now, the forecasted air temperature at 6:00 PM is 66°, and the current water temperature is 68°.

We will continue monitoring the water temperature until approximately 3:30 PM. If the water does not reach 70°, we will unfortunately need to close the pool for the evening.

As mentioned yesterday, the Rubber Duck Regatta may still take place unless event organizers decide to cancel due to rain.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through these cooler temperatures. We will provide another update later this afternoon. Stay tuned!

Great News, Lake Waynoka Family!

After several hours of phone calls and coordination by all parties involved, the contaminated fuel tank at the marina is scheduled to be pumped out and professionally cleaned tomorrow morning, Friday, May 22, 2026.

Testing confirmed that the fuel in the tank contains water contamination. Lake Waynoka will be pumping out the old fuel and cleaning the tank to prepare it for refilling by the Marina Operator.

If all goes according to plan and there are no unforeseen delays, the tanks are expected to be refilled tomorrow around 3:30 PM.

As a reminder, fuel pricing is determined solely by the Marina Operator, Mike Napier. Lake Waynoka does not control or profit from fuel prices, as they are set by the lessee's separate business.

As everyone is aware, there is an ongoing legal dispute between WPOA and Mike Napier, but both parties decided to put that aside and put the community first, ensuring the community has fuel available this Holiday Weekend and thereafter. Thank you to everyone for your patience while this situation was addressed.

Lake Waynoka Pool Update

We want to address some of the rumors circulating regarding the pool and the Rubber Duck Regatta. At this time, the Rubber Duck Regatta is still scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, May 22, and the pool is currently expected to be open for the event.

We met this morning with the liaison from the Women’s Club to discuss the event schedule and contingency plans. If the weather impacts tomorrow’s event, the rain date will be Saturday. If Saturday is also affected by the weather, the event will move to Sunday.

While the forecast for the weekend is not particularly promising, we unfortunately do not have control over the weather conditions, including rain, sunshine, or temperatures.

We also want to remind everyone that Lake Waynoka follows recommendations provided by the American Red Cross regarding pool operations and safety. These recommendations involve both water temperature and air temperature. Many may recall that last year’s Regatta was impacted because temperatures were too cold for safe pool operations.

Current Red Cross guidance recommends that pools not open if both the air temperature and water temperature are below 70 degrees. However, if either the air temperature or the water temperature is above 70 degrees, the pool may remain open.

For example:
• If the air temperature is 69° but the water temperature is 71°, the pool may open.
• If the air temperature is 71° but the water temperature is 69°, the pool may open.
• If both temperatures are below 70°, the pool will remain closed.

As of this morning, the water temperature is 72 degrees. Tomorrow evening’s projected air temperature during the Regatta is approximately 66 degrees. If the water temperature remains above 70 degrees, the pool will remain open.

We understand this is a lengthy update, but we wanted to provide everyone with accurate information regarding the current situation. Please note that if the pool must close due to water temperatures, the Rubber Duck Regatta will still proceed as long as weather conditions allow.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Power Line Clearance Work to Begin Soon:

Duke Energy has evaluated vegetation throughout Lake Waynoka and determined that tree pruning is needed near power lines.

In landscaped areas, Duke Energy will clean up small limbs that are six inches or less in diameter. Larger wood will be cut into firewood-length pieces and stacked on-site.

ABC Professional Tree Company will be performing this work on behalf of Duke Energy. Please be considerate of the crews as they work around the lake.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this necessary maintenance.

Good afternoon, Lake Waynoka!

We have been working throughout the morning to address issues with the back gates, and it appears that one of the gates has sustained significant damage. We are currently reviewing camera footage to better understand what occurred.

At this time, the back gate entrance will remain closed until repairs can be completed. Amano is scheduled to come out tomorrow to assess the situation and help determine the next steps.

Until further notice, all entry into Lake Waynoka must be through the front gate. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
