These images show one patient’s healing journey following nasolabial flap reconstruction after Mohs excision for basal cell carcinoma, from her initial postoperative reconstruction to her 6-month outcome.

At MNOFS, reconstruction is performed the same day as Mohs excision by our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Head & Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery. We collaborate closely with dermatologists and referring providers to ensure a smooth process and the best possible outcomes.

This patient has healed beautifully and shared, “I was anxious about coming in for facial reconstruction and didn’t know what to expect. Meeting Dr. Kademani was such a relief, he was just so personable and explained everything well. You really have to look closely to see that I had surgery; at first glance, you wouldn’t even notice. I’m really happy.”

During the holiday season, we often receive treats or gifts from referring offices, but this year, a patient surprised us as well. One patient who underwent Mohs surgery with upper lip and nostril reconstruction dropped off two beautiful letters expressing gratitude for the care received before, during, and after the procedure.

We are humbled when patients take the time to recognize the attention and care we strive to provide.

Winter is the perfect season to refresh your look❄️

Cosmetic treatments work especially well during this time of year. With less sun exposure your skin can heal more safely, cooler temperatures help reduce swelling and discomfort, and the slower pace of the season gives you time to recover and enjoy your results.

At Minnesota Oral and Facial Surgery we offer treatments that address common signs of aging including loss of volume, fine lines and wrinkles, and sagging skin. Whether you’re looking to restore volume with injectables, rejuvenate your skin with CO₂ Laser, or contour and lift your features with cosmetic surgery, we create personalized plans tailored to your needs!

It’s always a treat to get our entire team together for our annual holiday party. This year’s was at The Olde Brick House! We enjoyed festive cocktails, a delicious meal, and even some fun Christmas games while celebrating our team and all their hard work throughout the year to care for our patients and each other. This year also marks five years of serving our patients and community. We look forward to carrying this energy into 2026 as we look forward to the New Year.

The Head and Neck Cancer Foundation was established five years ago to support patients with head and neck cancer.

As part of these efforts, the “We Fight with You" Patient Need Gift Program was created to make the holiday season a little brighter for patients affected by head and neck cancer.

Throughout the year, a great deal of work goes into this mission. From educational programs to oral cancer screenings. Several fund-raising initiatives are coordinated each year to make it possible to give directly to those whose lives have been changed by a head and neck cancer diagnosis. Due to this collective effort, we are honored to recognize Tracy as our 2025 “We Fight with You” Patient Need Gift recipient.

Tracy was diagnosed with Stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma of her tongue at the age 26 years old…this was 11 years ago. Since her diagnosis, she has undergone numerous surgeries, and other treatments to allow her to be optimally rehabilitated. “The life I had envisioned for myself died the day I was diagnosed,” Tracy says, “but today I truly know that a little bit of grit, hope, and hard work will get me through any challenge.”

Through it all, her parents shared, “her resolve to live a full life has never diminished.” Today, Tracy is surrounded by loved ones, shares life with her amazing partner, and is thriving in her career as a licensed therapist. Tracy embodies the courage of the human spirit and we are proud to recognize her as our 2025 “We Fight with You” award recipient.

Your mouth can reveal a lot about your overall health. Diagnosis of oral cancer in the earliest stages can significantly improve outcomes. Look out for these symptoms:

• A sore that won’t go away
• Pain in the jaw or throat
• Neck mass
• Any symptoms that last more than two weeks

Oral cancer doesn’t only impact people who use to***co or alcohol. If you notice changes that don’t resolve, it’s worth getting checked. Schedule a consultation with our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Sartell, Willmar, or Minneapolis.
