February is National Cancer Prevention Month, a great reminder to be intentional about supporting your long-term health. While some causes of cancer can’t be changed, lifestyle choices can help reduce your risk. According to the American Cancer Society, nearly half of cancer deaths in 2025 were linked to modifiable behaviors.

Here are 6 simple ways to help lower your risk of oral, head, and neck cancer:

- Avoid to***co and ma*****na
- Minimize alcohol consumption
- Get the HPV vaccine
- Commit to a well-balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables
- Use SPF lip balm and sun protection
- Visit the dentist regularly to get screened

Even without any risk factors, it is still possible to develop oral cancer, which is why early detection is so important for getting treatment quickly and improving your chances of a good outcome.

Visit us for a free walk-in oral cancer screenings April 13–17 and take a proactive step toward protecting your long-term health.

Cleft lip and palate occur when areas of a baby’s face don’t fully join during early pregnancy. These defects affect about 1 in 800 babies and can involve the lip, gum, and palate. Children often need a team of specialists to manage feeding, speech, hearing, and facial development.

With our oral and maxillofacial surgical team, cleft lip and palate surgery delivers both functional and cosmetic results to achieve the following goals:

•Primary Lip & Palate Repair: Closes the cleft, restores muscle function, and improves natural appearance and function for speech and swallowing.

•Alveolar Bone Grafting: Supports tooth eruption and jaw stability.

•Supernumerary Tooth Extraction: Removes extra teeth for proper growth and orthodontic alignment.

•Orthognathic Surgery: Corrects jaw alignment for bite, function, and facial symmetry.

•Rhinoplasty: Adjusts the nose for optimal function, breathing, and aesthetics.

Supporting a healthy jaw, smile, and facial symmetry is a step-by-step process that requires coordination between our surgeons, orthodontists, and other specialists to achieve the best results.

The real Super Bowl stat?👀 How many wings or dips you can get through before halftime🏈

If missing teeth have made it difficult for you to enjoy your favorite gameday snacks, you’re not alone. Around 178 million adults in the U.S. have lost at least one tooth.

Dental implants can help you get back to enjoying the game, the commercials, and every bite without worry. They function and feel like natural teeth, and they last longer than any other replacement option.

Tracy has never been defined by cancer, but by resilience.

Tracy was diagnosed at 26 with Stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue and began her care with Dr. Kademani and Julie Kline. She faced an intensive treatment plan, including surgery that removed half of her tongue, most of the lymph nodes in her neck, and reconstruction using tissue from her thigh. She endured radiation, multiple surgeries, and a long rehabilitation process, all while continuing to build her life and career as a therapist.

As our 2025 We Fight With You Patient Need Gift recipient, we invited her loved ones to share her journey with cancer from their perspective. It’s a story full of strength, perseverance, and hope.
