To our Colonial Pharmacy Patients,
As a family run independent community pharmacy for over 50 years, it is with a heavy heart that we inform you, Colonial Pharmacy will be permanently closing. Your prescription records will be transferred to Giant Eagle Pharmacy in Sarver, PA on June 17th. Brenda, Karen and Mary will begin working at Giant Eagle to help make the transition run as smooth as possible.
The market abuses perpetrated by the megalithic and unregulated pharmacy insurance industry, otherwise known as Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) limit the profitability of independent community pharmacies. PBMs reimburse an increasing amount of prescriptions a few measly cents over or significantly under our purchase cost. We have fought hard, but independent community pharmacy is no longer a sustainable business.
