PSA. (A.k.a rant to big box gyms and online/rookie trainers)

I have had the privilege of learning from amazing mentors for many years. I widely incorporate the very effective hip hinge pattern and various forms of deadlift moves (rarely with an Olympic bar for my training style) BUT if someone wanted to learn to do a heavy deadlift or Olympic/ Power/Strongman lift I would refer them to an expert/bring them in to consult. There’s no shame in that….Always keep learning!

Know your physiology, bio-mechanics, and all the nuances in between, (then master the move yourself) before introducing it to others or workout freshmen. Know what you don’t know. Please. Or your client can suffer serious harm from your good intentions.

THROWBACK MEMORY. To say Happy Birthday to my trusty sidekick.
We survived leaving us to go to college in Nashville.
We survived Science Fair Season 6,
We survived moving to Babylon and discovering waste disposals, vacuum cleaners, smooth paved roads, one hour DMV visits, air-conditioned classrooms and red tomatoes!!
We survived driving on the right.
We survived NTC, AMPD, USF and numerous other acronyms.
We survived NEW, and CHANGE, and CHAPTERS -and ADVENTURES. In fact, we made everything an adventure thanks to your outlook on life.

Thank you for making sure I never grow up. To always look for the pun in the sentence, the joy in the day , the curb to balance on, the hill to run up, and to laugh at my own jokes.

Dont ever change !! The world needs more Jakios!
