Hygiene Product Drive at Satya for Hope Project Clients!
Hope Project exists to support specifically women and girls who have survived s*x trafficking and to prevent further cases through mentoring, education, and therapy services. Hope Project does a myriad of services within the Muskegon community, as well as partners with addiction recovery groups and other resources. We work in courts to support our survivors through advocacy, support groups, equine therapy, mentorship programs, educational initiatives for children, educational training for law enforcement, and the provision of hygiene products.
That being said, many of our clients require basic hygiene products. Our biggest needs are:
-Full-size conditioner/shampoo bottles
-Diverse and inclusive hair products like curl creams, gels, bonnets, etc.
-Full-size body wash
-Lotion/Moisturizer
-Dish soap
-Toilet Paper
-Laundry Pods
Hope Projects clients are coming out of exploitative and traumatic situations, and it is important that they feel cared for on every level of service. Engaging with people to provide body care that makes them feel good is an important part of some individuals’ healing journeys. Sometimes feeling seen in small ways makes the biggest difference.
I want to make it quick, easy, and accessible, as we all lead busy lives. Thus, my proposal is that when you go to the store to fill up on your body soap, conditioner, shampoo, tampons, etc. Buy 2. One for yourself, and one for a person who needs it. This way, you can share your favorite products-ones that you actually use- with another person in Michigan and make them feel supported. We all want our clients to have clean and healthy products that make them feel loved. Would you consider donating products for this drive?
Thank you for your time!!!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. There will be a spot to drop off donations at Satya. I want to respect the space, and I am working with Teresa to pick up donations as they come in!
