🥲Three educators at The Learning Center for the Deaf took the ACCEPT Collaborative version of Backdrop to Success offered last summer.

They found the curriculum valuable – and they wanted their colleagues to experience it, too!

The trio encouraged school leaders to explore in-person offerings. And because TLC’s day school, evening, and residential staff teams each have unique needs, I am customizing each session. Over 100 educators who serve deaf and hard-of-hearing students participated in the first training.

Taking a deep breath as I turn 43. 🌬️

This past year has been a marathon of the heart. Between the re-traumatization, and the complex grief of losing my father last summer, it’s been a season of deep survival and untangling the aftermath. Not to mention other challenges that adulting entails.

As I move into 43, I’m leaning into the medicine of movement, the power of community, and the radical act of self-care.

Here’s to a year of finding my footing and making the next chapter the best one yet.

If the teachers at Abbott Elementary can turn “Wild Wild West” into a full moment… so can we. 🤠✨

Just me dancing along to one of my favorite TV scenes — because joy is contagious, and movement makes it louder.

January was the warmup, but February was the real test. This month brought the "un-glamorous" side of adulthood: an unexpected appliance purchase, tickets for upcoming events, medical expenses, and prepping for my March birthday. 🎂🏠

Despite the curveballs, the streak continues:
🚫 Still no extraneous Amazon hauls.
🚫 Still no new clothes or shoes
🚫 Still no "just because" earrings.

I’ve been tracking our grocery habits, and it’s shifted my perspective entirely. Technically, the essentials don't "count" against the challenge—but the mindfulness counts for everything. 📈

It turns out that having control over your consumption feels way more powerful than any order I have ever placed. We aren't just saving money; we’re reclaiming our peace. 🕊️
