Thank you nurses!

During National Nurses Week, the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) thanks all nurses, especially those responders who have been on the front lines of disaster relief and the fight against caring for vulnerable people, even as they worry about their own health and their families at home.

Our nation and our communities, states, territories, and tribes are lucky to have you and we are incredibly grateful for your passion, expertise, compassion, optimism, and care. Because of you, we live in a happier, healthier world.

Building awareness of rare diseases is so important because 1 in 20 people will live with a rare disease at some point in their life. Despite this, there is no cure for the majority of rare diseases and many go undiagnosed. Rare Disease Day improves knowledge amongst the general public of rare diseases while encouraging researchers and decision makers to address the needs of those living with rare diseases.
