Last Thursday Getty Street Residents enjoy a day at the park for games and lunch!
They had so much fun playing Hot Potato and the winners received a Taco Bell gift card!!! 🎉

Lunch was served after the games and the Residents enjoyed fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and a yummy cookie for dessert!!

They are already asking when the next park outing is scheduled for!

-Maintains department schedule.
- Plan menus.
- Insures department staff adheres to sanitation policies and regulations.

Yesterday our residents participated in a pickling food taste test!

We had some fun options such as pickled watermelon rind, peaches, eggs, and even beef tongue!! 😳

February is American Heart Month!❤️
How many people are impacted by heart disease?

About 17,487,000 people in the U.S. have coronary heart disease and about 268,000 people in Minnesota.

Often these common heart diseases can be prevented by living a healthier lifestyle.

Getty Street supports our residents in making heart happy decisions. Taking action, even in small ways to protect our hearts can make a big difference in our overall health.❤️

Continuing the theme of American Heart Month for February, let's talk about how important self-care is to keeping your heart happy and healthy! ❤️

Some examples of what self-care can look like are:
- Cooking meals that are low sodium
- Prioritizing physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day
- Getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night
- Finding ways to manage your stress such as yoga, meditation, or quiet time with a book or movie

These are all great ways to manage blood pressure levels and reduce the risk of heart disease or stroke.

Yesterday Getty Street had our Resident Christmas party!🎄☃️ Our residents invited friends and family to celebrate the holidays and everyone was in the holiday spirit! 🎅 We had live music, a visit from Santa, and a spread of food and treats. A special thank you to Moments Hospice who came with an amazing hot chocolate bar for our residents and their families to enjoy! We loved getting into the holiday spirit and seeing the smiles and joy!
