Music & Memories

Broadcast for Sunday, Dec 3, 2023
Covering the deaths from Dec 3-9, 2023

Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories.

This is Linda Sue and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one.

December opens up to Christmas planning and celebrations. When we've lost someone we've loved deeply the season can bear times of sadness, pain and emptiness. We find it hard to see those around us feeling the joy while all we feel is pain. This time of year we have to focus on ourselves. Give yourself permission to feel, cry and laugh! Take special moments for you but also surround yourself with those who love you. This may be the time to show love by helping someone else with their Christmas. Helping others always helps the heart pain. This is a season of love!

This program is dedicated to the memory of:

Covering the deaths from November 26-Dec 2, 2023

Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories.

This is Linda Sue and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one.

With Thanksgiving the holidays have begun! For a moment let's think about a snow globe silently sitting on your shelf. All of a sudden someone decides to shake it! Our grief is the snowglobe and when it sits still silently, we feel "ok". When it gets shaken up the snowflakes are our feelings and scatter everywhere! It might have been a memory, it might have been a song you heard, a movie or anything that stops our world and reminds us, we miss you! As the snow settles, we get back to our new normal. Grief Bursts are a healthy reminder that we were loved and we loved in return!
