👋 Meet Charlie Athman! Charlie is a Level 4 Healing Touch for Animals® Practitioner in Central Minnesota. He supports rescues and other animals through his practice Remus Road. He also puts his HTA expertise to great use in his daytime profession as a dog groomer.

I'm excited to announce that the hard work has paid off and Ive been awarded my dog grooming certification! Been busy working toward this so the social network aspects has been getting a bit neglected. (No worries, I'm still working with the humane society weekly!) The energy work that I've learned through my remus road experiences has been a blessing when working with my grooming dogs and I look forward to all the possibilities this pairing will facilitate!

We are proud to announce our newest professional groomer, Charlie!
Since last February Charlie has been working hard to grow his skills as a groomer.
And we are happy to say that he has fully completed his apprenticeship!
We look forward to helping Charlie further grow in this rewarding career.

This is Pokey, a year and a half old
large (75+lb) mix breed. He's incredibly gentle around people and loves to nuzzle into your arms and lap. Pokey recently had a rough go around with a porcupine... lessons were learned. Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Tri-County Humane Society, he's all patched up and looking for new friends (preferably those with less quills). Pokey would enjoy a family that loves sunny walks and some leisurely couch potato time at the end of the day. Stop by Pokey's kennel for a big hug from this big softie.

Taz is an energetic 1.5 year old Terrier/Pitbull mix currently residing at the Tri-County Humane Society. Her intake was due to landlord issues after her last family relocated. Taz is extremely friendly and curious making every walk a new exciting experience. She also loves a challenge (especially chew toys); the tougher, the better. If you are part of an active family looking for a K9 companion that can keep up, today is your lucky day! Come by and say hi, she would love to meet you! 💞

This is Friend, a 9 month old black lab/retriever mix. Somehow, he has become the Tri-County Humane Society 's longest resident! Some things I immediately noticed with Friend was the calm, affectionate demeanor he had on our walk as well as his love for affection. As far as puppies go, Friend is very well behaved, even with minimal training up to this point; also, he's very gentle and easy going when being played with. His personality mixed with his super soft coat makes him a prime candidate for a family looking for a sweet boy to snuggle and run with the kiddos.

Today we worked with Milo and Neeka; these two are best friends that came into the Tri-County Humane Society together. They are inseparable, even kenneling together at the shelter, so it only made sense to let them share their healing experience as well. These two love to play, enjoy treats and cuddling. Milo is just over 3 and a bit shy at first, Neeka is just over 4 and is the more outgoing type. They perfectly compliment each other in every aspect of their lives and are hoping to stay together as they traverse their futures. This pair would love nothing more than to find a fun family to join their pack and explore the world together.

Double the Love and Healing going out today!
Sadie, who is kennel neighbors with Suzie at the Tri-County Humane Society, is just the sweetest 8yr old girl EVER! Don't let her age fool you, she's like a fine wine... only getting better🥂 Tons of quality time left in her with all the perks that maturity provides, this elegant lady is not one to be overlooked. Even though she was abandoned by her previous owner, Sadie still shows love and trust to everyone she meets. So soft and gentle, she wants nothing more than a family that will join her for a leisurely stroll followed with a relaxing cuddle session, and maybe a few treats. Today's healing touch session was especially effective leaving her in prime shape for a new beginning!

No reason to keep away from this Runaround Sue 🎶
Suzie is a 6 yr old yellow lab/retriever mix currently available at the Tri-County Humane Society. She was shy at first but it didn't take long before she was everyone's friend at the kennel. Suzie's favorite activities include exploring on walks, which she is excellent on a leash, as well as rope/chew toys, and lots of pets and affection. She is also a fan of squeeze cheese (in moderation), but who isn't 😅. If your family is looking for it's own Sue to runaround with, this is your Gal!

The last couple of sessions, I forgot to grab some pictures while working with the dogs, but we got back on track today...

This is Hefus, a 4yr old Australian Cattle Dog. He grew up as a farm dog but was surrendered to the Tri-County Humane Society about a month ago. This poor fella is quite shy and timid around people which could be a contributing factor to his longer than usual kennel stay. Our session today started out slow with Hefus standing guard at the door and a bit weary of the sounds of the shelter, but after we got the energy moving, he quickly calmed himself and let the healing take hold. Hefus would do well with a kind and patient family as he may take a bit of extra time to warm up to some people; however, the time spent will be well worth it! He's an amazingly good boy, has a beautiful energy about him, and has become a "Staff Favorite" at the kennel!

Rocky is Available! He's a 10 month old black lab, but could easily be mistaken for a cuddle bug. Super gentle and loves to nuzzle up in your lap; however, the shelter life has him feeling a bit anxious (One of the aspects we worked on today).He has energy to match his age but doesn't ever wander too far from his person. Rocky wants to be everybody's friend but would make the perfect pair if your looking for that companion to walk with you through life. You can visit him today at the Tri-County Humane Society... If your family is already full of pets, like ours, you can still help out with a share. Please spread the word, our goal is to get this young, adorable fella a home for the Holidays!
