🚨Next Thursday evening, 3/5, I’ll be out of the office prepping for my colonoscopy.
Yes… the prep. 😅💩
We’re normalizing it.
I’m sharing this because this is what taking your health seriously actually looks like.
After walking through chronic illness myself, I don’t ignore things. I don’t wait for symptoms to get loud. I believe in checking in with my body and catching things early.
And here’s something more people need to know:
👉 Colon cancer is rising in younger adults.
👉 A lot of people have ZERO symptoms until it’s advanced.
👉 Colonoscopies can actually prevent cancer, not just find it.
They can remove precancerous polyps before they ever become a problem. That’s huge.
You might be thinking, “I’m too young.”
So are a lot of the people being diagnosed right now.
Screening typically starts at 45 for average-risk adults, and earlier if you have family history or certain gut symptoms. Sometimes even younger depending on your history.
We normalize everything else.
Let’s normalize life-saving screenings too.
I don’t take my health lightly anymore.
Prevention feels empowering, not scary.
If you’ve been putting this off, maybe this is your little nudge to schedule it.
I’ll see you the following week, hydrated, screened, and practicing what I preach 🤍
