Sunsets like this never get old. And now that warmer weather is here there will be many opportunities to be on the water at sunset. And I am also excited about daylight savings time beginning because there will be more sunlight in the evenings.

Only a few days left until Daylight Savings Time starts. This time of year is a great time to declutter your house. Consider getting rid of things that you no longer need. Also take the time to do yard work in preparation for Spring. All of these things have benefits for your mental health as you will not spend time trying to find things you need.

March is colon cancer awareness month and I cannot stress the importance of getting screened. In recent years more cases of cancer have been diagnosed in younger patients which is why the recommended age to begin screening was lowered to 45 for average risk individuals. Winter weather is upon us, but that doesn’t mean that you have to spend all your time indoors. With proper layering it is quite possible to enjoy time outside. Wearing layers made of synthetic fibers or wool is another strategy to stay warm. Layering also allows you to manage your body temp by removing/adding layers as needed. Keeping your head, hands, and feet warm is important as well. Waterproofing is also a consideration if you will encounter rain or snow. There’s nothing worse than wet layers to take away your body heat.
