It’s Erin’s birthday today. And the best way we know how to celebrate her is to just tell the truth about her…

She has turned patients away. She has refunded money. She has told people what they needed even when it wasn’t something we offer. She reads research most injectors have never heard of and gets on planes to learn things she won’t offer until she’s ready.

So over half of our story viewers said what the heck is sculptra… and that’s fair 🥹😭 we know, we historically haven’t talked about it enough. So we thought it was time to make this post.

“Why PDGF?”

Because for years, everything we put into a microneedling channel was either hydrating your skin or sitting in it. That’s it. That was the ceiling.

HA hydrates. Generic serums sit. PRP signals… but only as well as your platelet count cooperates that day.

None of them are telling your skin to do anything.

PDGF-BB is a signaling molecule. It’s the exact growth factor your body releases at the site of a wound to trigger repair.

Charlotte isn’t delivering a serum through those channels. She’s delivering a MESSAGE. At a concentration your skin couldn’t produce on its own.

This is what the before and after you’re looking at actually is.

Not more aggressive treatment. Not more downtime. A medium that your tissue already knows how to respond to.

Every once in a while we get asked why they’ve seen Dysport for $4/unit and ours is $12/unit.

The short answer: not all “units” are created equal.

Each neurotoxin company defines its own unit based on its own testing method, so a Botox unit and a Dysport unit aren’t interchangeable.

At Park we simplify things by converting everything to Botox-equivalent units. It keeps dosing consistent, makes it easier for our injectors and medical assistants, and avoids confusing math at checkout.

Is it nuanced? Yes. (Medicine usually is 😅)
Is it something most people would ever need to know? Probably not.

But the question came up recently and we always appreciate curious patients so here’s the insider explanation.
