General exercises like push/pull/squat can be beneficial for general strength. But they are also really great at training and reinforcing compensations.

I had no problem squatting a lot of weight even though my lateral hip strength and pelvic floor were weak and out of balance.

Specific and intentional training is how you develop good general balanced strength!
