11 years ago, you took a chance on me. I was so nervous walking into that interview for a weight loss doctor when I myself have struggled with obesity my entire adult life. I did not exactly expect to get the job even though I wanted it more than anything. Walking into the office just felt like home. And you made me comfortable immediately. When you called me back in and offered me the job a couple of weeks later, I remember asking you how you like to be addressed, and if I should call you Steve? You said that everyone calls you “Doc” and that would be fine. I was so glad you didn’t ask me to call you Dr. Fabrizio because I was not exactly sure how to pronounce your last name. 😆 Heck, being a bit of a tomboy, I didn’t even know how to properly pronounce “aesthetics”, and you offered those services back then. 🙃
All of Savannah (and beyond) knows that you are a winner, Doc. 🏆 But what makes you the biggest winner in my book is that you see the potential in people. You meet us where we are while encouraging our success. You make us feel seen and not judged. You shower us with knowledge and guidance to achieve any goals we may have; from losing weight to catching fish to managing finances, you are rallying us on through it all! You genuinely care and that is what makes you such a champion. Thank you for bringing me along for the ride. You did not just give me a job 11 years ago; you gave me a family and a sense of community that I didn’t even realize I longed for.
