For the first decade of my life I was told I had an “overactive imagination” or that I “watched too many scary movies”. Seeing spirits in my bedroom during the night became my “normal” (and still is to this day). As a teenager I learned to hide what I was experiencing because I didn’t want to be seen as the “weird kid”. And boy did I hide it well…but I was very unhappy. I had to pretend I was someone else every single day. Never being my true self.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to truly listen to your children when they say they see someone in their bedroom or any other room for that matter. Just because you cannot see them does not mean they are not there. Imagine for a moment what it must feel like to see something that’s scary to you and no one believes you…it adds to the fear. Kids are hyper sensitive to spirits. They see much more than adults do. Some of those children have gifts, the ability to not only see the spirits but to communicate with them. Don’t look at it as a “cry for attention” or “that something is wrong with them”…having that gift is extremely special and it should be encouraged. The earlier children understand what is happening & why, the better handle they’ll have on it as an adult.

Witchy tip of the year:
Avoid any magick or divination when you are struggling/overwhelmed mentally/emotionally/spiritually. This can change the outcome of the ritual or impact the message you receive from the readings (no matter the divination tool).
