Are you engaging your core correctly?

If you’ve ever been told to “engage your core” but weren’t quite sure what that actually means, this video is for you!

We’re talking about the transverse abdominis—your deepest core muscles. Correct core engagement is key for all functional movement, from lifting groceries to hitting the gym. These stabilizing muscles are the foundation for safe, strong movement.

Learning to activate them properly can help with:

✅ Improving posture
✅ Enhancing balance
✅ Boosting performance in everyday tasks

Spotlight ⭐️

Team members from around our Portland Metro region spent this year’s PT Day of Service partnering with Go Baby Go, helping build modified ride-on toy cars to give young children with disabilities the gift of mobility and independence.

It was an inspiring day filled with teamwork, creativity, and smiles — all in the spirit of using our skills as physical therapists to make a difference in our community.

We had a lot of fun giving back to our community last Sat by cleaning up trash in downtown Saint Helens with the Saint Helens team. We all really enjoyed ending with a delicious meal from Crooked Creak Brewery!

We recently celebrated Lindsay's 6th year being apart of our team! Wow, it's incredible how time flies. Thank you for all the care, kindness and joy you bring into our life's each day (along with the occasional visit from Vinnie or Bhee). Congratulations on 6 years and may we share many more!

The past 3 months we have had the incredible pleasure of getting to know and work with Miranda, a brave individual who has stepped up to the challenge of being our Administrative Coordinator Lead. Miranda was born and raised in Scappoose (SHS Class of 2013 alum), who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Oregon State University in 2017. Having worked in various healthcare positions throughout the years, she enjoys administration the most. She is an avid long distance runner, participating in multiple timed races annually throughout Oregon/SW Washington, including the Hood to Coast Relay. When she’s not physically active, you can find her reading nonfiction, making a healthy meal or spending time with her pets.

We are very grateful and excited to have you on our team!

Can you tell our therapists are in sync with each other? They showed up today dressed so much alike, we had to take a photo. Even their hair scrunchies are the same color. Olya's is hiding, but it's the same as Lindsay's, lol!

Everyone...meet Vincent! We are so excited to announce that our therapist Lindsay & her husband Christian welcomed little Vinnie into this world on Thursday, Nov 21st. He weighs 5 # 8oz and is 19.5 inches long. Please join us in welcoming Vincent & congratulating Lindsay & Christian in this exciting moment of their lives.

The Scappoose clinic volunteered this weekend & picked up garbage in St. Helens after the Halloweentown festivities that brings tens of thousands of people to our small community. We couldn't have been more lucky with perfect weather (no rain!). It was fun to get outside & do something good/rewarding for the community.
