Happy Autumn! On the Maine coast, the leaves display their bright fiery colors, and the light casts long shadows. These are beautiful days as I harvest summer’s final blooms for tinctures and teas.

I’ve been reflecting on some of the many success stories from my clients and their journeys with pelvic health through steaming. My teacher, Keli Garza, has described Pelvic Steaming as “gynecology in a box”, since it can be beneficial for EVERY pelvic issue and has been used for pelvic health cross culturally since ancient times. It is a truly beautiful and supportive holistic practice. To read some success stories, head over to my latest blog post, Holistic Pelvic Health. There are countless more encouraging accounts and research on pelvic steaming on The Peristeam Hydrotherapy Institute website.

If you want to connect to your root chakra and take your pelvic health into your own hands, please reach out for a Pelvic Health Steam Consult. I would be honored to facilitate your journey and help unveil your unique pelvic wisdom!

Pelvic steaming is an ancient cross cultural practice of sitting over medicinal herbal steam. A regular steam practice increases circulation, lubrication, and relaxation. Depending on the individual’s needs and desired results, specific steam plans help treat many pelvic issues, including endometr...

🍁While enjoying the last two weeks of Summer, we can feel the change of season coming. There’s a coolness in the breeze and night air. The bright yellow of Goldenrods and violet Asters dazzle the fields. Routines shift as many of us return to more regular schedules after gatherings and travels.

🍁The body accumulates heat during the summer months, and the chillier drier winds of Fall stir up and increase vulnerability to inflammation, anxiety, restlessness, allergies, and colds. During the upcoming seasonal shift, here are some of my favorite ways to ground and nurture the body and keep well:

🍁Do a Cleanse! This gently helps the body change seasonal gears. l offer a 7 day Ayurvedic Cleanse to balance the body with a simple diet and structured rest time.

🍁Drink Bone Broth! Incorporating bone broth is a wonderful way to boost collagen, improve sleep, support digestion, and nourish and hydrate the body. After roasting an organic chicken, I remove all the meat and place the carcass in a pot with water to cover and add 1T apple cider vinegar, simmering overnight. The ACV extracts the nutrients from the bones, which gives the broth its deep rich flavor. The longer the stock simmers, the more concentrated the flavor. I also like buying grass fed beef bones from my local co-op, and letting them cook on low in my crockpot all day with some minced garlic, chopped onion, and celery. I enjoy making various soups with bone broth and also just having a cup of warm broth on its own. When I feel fatigued or sick, I turn to bone broth to give my body the nourishment it needs to return to vitality. During my moon cycle, I also especially love bone broth to support my womb cleansing time.

🍁 For times when you get chilled or run down, have Fire Cider, Elderberry Elixir, Echinacea tincture, and Immunity Tea on hand (Contact me to order; I have all in stock, even if it’s not on my website)!

🍁Little Helps: Walk barefoot on the Earth, Lay in the Sunshine, Smell the last of the Summer blooms, Touch the green grass before it dries and hibernates, Dance away any summer burnout or stress, Sing songs of celebration for the garden bounty.

📿 When I was 7, I was given a beautiful rosary bracelet, and I took comfort in having it close when I had nightmares or when other kids were mean to me in school. In my early 20s, I started learning Ayurveda and was given a fragrant Sandalwood bead necklace that I loved wearing for protection, calm, and connection to spirit while meditating. In my early 30s, a dear friend made me a prayer necklace, or ‘Mala’, and I’ve used it over the years to chant with and call on through difficult times, as I can feel the love and prayers my friend imbued while making it just for me. It recently broke, which inspired me to learn to make them for myself and others.

📿 People work with Malas in various ways. Along with assisting in counting sacred sounds and mantra, Malas are imbued with elements from the Earth, and the different beads offer different healing properties, both physical and emotional. Some of the gifts of gemstones include: Calm, Protection, Vitality, Strength, Abundance, Health, and Joy. Malas also offer a way to help manifest intentions, affirmations, and positivity.

📿 My Malas are now for sale on my website. They can be made specifically for you or a loved one, or can be purchased from stock I already have. I make each Mala with 108 genuine gemstones and/or sacred wood beads with natural Linen or H**p cord. I knot between each bead with prayers. They come with a note summarizing the gemstone gifts. If made specifically for a someone, I will personalize the prayers for that individual. These are inspired gifts and last a lifetime.

💙🌊I love living near the Maine coast in the summertime. Soaking up the sunshine and dipping in the ocean are some of my favorite activities.

🌊Although most bodies of water feel healing to me, there is something extra special about the ocean. She feels like one of my best friends. She has held my tears, my joy, my intentions, and she reminds me to let go of them all and be present in her cleansing cooling invigorating waves.

🌊The ocean brings me back to my breath, and the joy within. I’m filled with gratitude when I’m near her. I love singing with her and listening to her.

🌊Along with her rejuvenating energy, seawater is rich in minerals, including magnesium, sodium, chloride, potassium, zinc, and calcium. The salt is naturally antibacterial, antimicrobial and provides a gentle exfoliation.

🌊During these luxurious summer beach days, remember to hydrate your skin and yourself ! I like hydrating by:

💙Adding Trace Mineral drops to my water

💙Making an Ayurvedic electrolyte drink with filtered water, Redmond’s Real Salt, freshly squeezed Lime juice, and Maple Syrup (to taste)

💙Incorporating more Hibiscus, Mint, Rose, or Chamomile teas (Do you want me to make you a unique blend for your specific constitution?? Reach out!)

💙Enjoying Melons and other juicy fruits

💙Integrating Switchels and Oxymels on hot day (Yummy plants/berries infused in Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey/Maple Syrup/Molasses for a naturally cooling, mineral rich, hydrating drink). Take a look at my last blog post on Rhubarb for delicious recipe inspirations

💙Applying my Liquid Gold Sunscreen before and/ or after long sun exposure. Raspberry seeds and St. John’s Wort infused in Jojoba oil offer incredible natural support and protection for the skin. Read my Gathering Sunbeams blog post from last year to remind you about how important receiving unblocked sunshine is, free of synthetic sunscreens and sunglasses!!

🌊Hope you enjoy a few ocean swims this summer and that these tips help you feel nourished. All blog posts and herbal products on my website! viviraewellness.com

☀️Imbolc occurred on February 1st, the Celtic celebration that honors the coming of Spring, renewed energy, creativity, and inspiration.

☀️It marks the halfway point between Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. As we turn towards the light, this note arrives as a reminder to tap into your own bright essence and gift yourself or a loved one with self care practices that support rebirth and rejuvenation.

☀️Caring for, tuning, and clearing our energy bodies is essential. Our anatomy includes both physical and energy bodies. Energy centers (chakras) and energy boundaries can get blocked and knotted just like our muscles. The painful symptoms in our physical bodies are often manifestations of these blockages.

☀️During my Essence Attunement sessions, I use an Ohm Therapeutics vibrational tuning fork on marmani, Ayurvedic energy points, to open, settle, and balance your energy channels. I use singing bowls on the body for a deeper sound therapy experience. I dowse a specific flower essence blend from my homemade local flower essence set to help your specific spiritual, emotional, physical integration! I am receptive to Nature, Plant, and Spirit allies, which help you attune to your vibrant whole Essence. Book your session today, and Embody Your Wellness.

☀️Reminder that I have a beautiful array of pottery for sale now! I can also special blend tinctures, flower essences, teas, oils, and soaps just for you! If you don’t see what you’re looking for in my herbal products, please inquire. They all make wonderful gifts for self care or a special someone. https://www.viviraewellness.com/
