On March 25, we attended the Vietnam-Era Veterans Breakfast: Welcome Home hosted by the Travis Mills Foundation.

This annual event brings together Vietnam-era Veterans for a long-overdue moment of recognition, reflection, and appreciation. From the Presentation of Colors and Missing Man Table ceremony to the Quilts of Valor presentation and remarks from fellow Veterans, it was an awesome morning.

One of our core values is that Veterans are unique—each with their own story, service, and experiences. We are proud to enable the participation of several of our Veterans and their guests so they can experience the recognition and honor that was not always given when they first returned home.

Thank you to the Travis Mills Foundation for creating space to honor these heroes!

Residents and staff lined the hallways to give a loving send-off to two of our own, Eric Molbeck and Richard Doiron, as they departed for their Honor Flight on Friday.

Honor Flight Maine is a program that transports Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to their service—at no cost to them. It is a meaningful opportunity to recognize and thank them for their sacrifices.

Thank you to the Scarborough Maine Police Department for escorting our van to the Portland Jetport!

We are incredibly proud of Eric and Richard and honored to be part of this special moment. Thank you to everyone who helped make their send-off so memorable.

Happy 104th birthday, Jim! 🎉

We had a wonderful time celebrating this incredible milestone with Jim, surrounded by friends, staff, and community members. A special highlight of the day was a personalized “Happy Birthday” performance by a local barbershop quartet! 🎶

Jim was also proudly featured in our MVH Veteran Heroes Calendar, and we are honored to celebrate his life, service, and legacy.

We had a sweet time celebrating Maine Maple Weekend! 🍁

Residents enjoyed fresh, local maple syrup while learning how it’s made. The demonstration brought back memories for many and was a great way to connect with Maine traditions.

🍀 We’re proud to celebrate National Social Work Month and World Social Work Day on March 17 by recognizing the incredible social workers who support our residents, families, and care teams.

Our social workers play a vital role in advocating for Veterans, supporting families through important transitions, and helping ensure each resident’s voice, dignity, and personal story remain at the center of their care.

Today we’re recognizing our licensed social workers:
Mike Bicknell, Jane Caras, and Chris Mayo.

When asked what they enjoy most about their work, their responses reflect the heart of social work:
