The South Portland Police Department is excited to introduce our new Senior Walks program beginning this April!
Senior Walks will take place every Monday at 9:00 AM for 10 weeks (unless it falls on a holiday, in which case the walk will take place on Tuesday). The goal of this program is to give seniors in our community a chance to get outside, enjoy our beautiful city, stay active, and connect with our officers and neighbors.
Each walk will start at approximately 9:00 AM and follow a set route. Participants will walk about 30 minutes at their own pace, then return along the same route so everyone finishes together.
After each walk, SPPD will provide light refreshments and time to socialize.
We’re proud to partner with Age Friendly South Portland and South Portland Parks & Recreation to make these walks both fun and educational, including sharing historical information about the areas we visit and offering helpful safe walking tips.
We look forward to walking with you and spending time together in the community!
👟 Grab a friend, bring your walking shoes, and join us!

Living with Multiple Sclerosis can mean managing complex symptoms and sometimes that includes musculoskeletal pain layered on top of neurologic changes. In this case, dry needling was used as part of a comprehensive, individualized plan of care to address neck pain and support overall function.
Neuro and ortho don’t have to exist separately. There is space for both, especially when treatment is patient-specific, goal-driven, and grounded in what matters most to the individual in front of us.
Thanks Jen for sharing your story with us!

Learning to trust a prosthetic leg doesn’t happen all at once. It’s built through practice, guidance, and small wins that add up to confident movement.
Rehab is where that trust begins. 💪
