Day 2 at SCCM Critical Care Congress in Chicago.

We’ve continued connecting with ICU teams, intensivists, and physicians around recovery after cardiac and thoracic procedures, especially for patients healing from sternal incisions.
A common theme in these conversations is how much the smaller details can impact recovery. Support plays a role in how patients move, rest, and navigate those early stages, while also helping improve comfort and maintain dignity.

It’s been great spending time with clinicians and hearing firsthand how these considerations show up in day-to-day care.

Masthead now offers replacement ribbon loops and rings for the Elizabeth Pink Surgical Bra® with Convertible Loops and Rings and the Celeste Surgical Bra.

These removable pieces help keep surgical drains secure during recovery and can be attached or removed as needed.

The event brings together nurses and healthcare professionals for a full day of learning, conversation, and sharing ideas focused on improving patient care.

The program opened with Rebekah Marsh, BSN, RN, CCRN, President of AACN and ICU nurse at Harborview Medical Center, who spoke about what she’s seeing in critical care today and the evolving needs of patients.

“I discovered a lump in my right breast while performing a self breast exam. This was the beginning of the end of my life as I knew it before cancer - but not the end of my story.

That moment led me down a road I never asked to walk, but it also led me to the most promising treatment plans, healing, and ultimately time. Time to grow old with my husband, time to be here with my babies, and time to live my life with a deeper trust in God than I’ve ever known.

My prayer is that as many women possible would hear my testimony and be reminded to listen to her body, know her normal, and not wait if something feels off. Because it is proven through my life being spared that early detection truly saves lives.
