“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, or the smallest act of caring — all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” — Leo Buscaglia

Today we celebrate mothers, caregivers, and all those who care for others with compassion and heart.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at The Ambassador Scarsdale. 💐

Came across this beautiful moment we hadn’t shared and it felt too special not to — residents enjoyed a piano recital by the talented students of Shiran Xiao, representing the Piano Village Foundation. 🎹

Residents enjoyed another wonderful performance from the talented young musicians of the Elementary Strings Orchestra, part of the Greater Westchester Youth Orchestra Association, led by their beloved conductor, Bernard Klinger.

Wishing you a joyful and peaceful Easter. A beautiful time to gather, reflect, and enjoy the season together. 🐣

“13 Driver’s Licenses,” presented by Lisa Salko, shared the story of 13 Jewish driver’s licenses confiscated in 1938 in Lichtenfels and rediscovered decades later.

What began as a student project became a powerful act of remembrance, ultimately returning these items to the families of those affected.

Through her personal connection as a second-generation Holocaust educator, Lisa brought each story to life in a way that deeply resonated with residents.

We are grateful to the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center for making this meaningful program possible.

At The Ambassador of Scarsdale, we have always believed that the best care begins with knowing the people we serve—truly knowing them. Our Enhanced Assisted Living Residence (EALR) certification allows us to support residents as their needs change, but it is the continuity of our team that makes this level of care meaningful. Many of our staff have been with us for over a decade, walking alongside residents and families through every stage of aging. That familiarity, that trust, is what allows individuals to remain safely in their home here, surrounded by people who understand their history, their routines, and their preferences.

As the landscape of assisted living continues to evolve across New York, I was grateful for the opportunity to speak with Lisa Newcomb, Executive Director of the Empire State Association of Assisted Living, about how EALR services are expanding to meet higher acuity needs while preserving the dignity and stability that aging in place requires.

March is Social Work Month, and at The Ambassador Scarsdale, it felt important to take a moment to recognize the people behind so much of the care, coordination, and support our residents and families experience every day.

We’re proud to highlight a few of the individuals who help shape that experience, along with the broader team who brings this work to life across our community.
