Why denim today? πŸ‘–
Denim Day began in 1999, after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a r**e conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans β€” ruling she must have helped remove them. Women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work in protest, and that solidarity became a global movement.
Today, on the last Wednesday of April, we wear denim as a visible stand against victim-blaming and the myths that still surround sexual violence.
There is never an excuse, and what someone is wearing is never an invitation.
SFCS stands with survivors β€” today and every day.

SFCS is pleased to welcome, Yeh-Chin (Esther) Wu, as our newest staff member! Esther joins us as a bilingual (Mandarin/English) Psychotherapist specializing in Creative Arts Therapy. She brings extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a range of settings, including domestic violence services, school-based programs, and private practice.
Esther's clinical focus encompasses trauma recovery, family relationships, life transitions, and personal growth, with a particular passion for parent–child dynamics, attachment, couple relationships, and family integration. She also has experience facilitating ther**eutic work with men and fathers.
Her practice is culturally responsive, and she works closely with immigrant and multicultural communities, with a keen attunement to cross-cultural parenting, intergenerational relationships, and cultural adjustment. Drawing on her creative arts background, Esther is highly skilled at engaging children through play, artmaking, and developmentally appropriate interventions β€” helping them feel safe, express emotions, and experience therapy as a natural and supportive process.
