Skin reactions 🤮 no one likes them, but they happen, so how do we help our skin repair??
Lil background… this was 1 week post chemical peel, I used a new cleanser and it broke me out. Left my skin dry, cracked, and hot 🥵…. It happens to all of us. I thought I was in the clear and I wasn’t.
First thing to do:
1. Stop all routine skin care products
2. Use only water as your cleanser (the skin is irritated enough, so temporarily only use water as a lot of cleansers have sulfates in them and this is more irritating)
3. Use XeraCalm or Restorative Protective Cream - these will help heal your skin barrier - its French product and was tested on burn 🔥 patients, so very safe to use.
4. Use an oral antihistamine and anti-inflammatories
5. Avoid steroids if you can and wait it out - steroids are not good for the skin!!
6. If the face feels hot, gently cool with a cool pack intermittently to help calm down inflammation.
7. Give it time to heal and don’t use any other skin care products until the skin is healed.
That jawline on point though 👀 😂
