Thankfully, our brothers and sisters at Roselle Professional Firefighters Local 4051 responded swiftly and professionally at yesterday’s mayday incident and nobody was injured.

It serves at a grim reminder of the unpredictable nature of the incidents we respond to.

This is a big win for the community and a direct investment in faster response times, improved coverage, and better patient care. It strengthens service for both residents and visitors and helps ensure help is there when it’s needed most. Well done!

A Historic Day for Arlington Heights

Today marks a truly historic moment for Arlington Heights and its firefighters.

After years of research, careful planning, and invaluable community input and support, Ambulance 5 is now officially placed into service 24/7, 365 days a year. This milestone represents a major step forward in our ability to deliver timely, high-quality emergency medical care to our residents.

This achievement would not have been possible without the leadership and commitment of Chief Harris, his administrative staff, Village leadership, the Village Board, and AH Mayor Tinaglia, all of whom worked collaboratively to make this vision a reality.

Most importantly, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the Arlington Heights community. Your trust, engagement, and support have allowed us the opportunity to better serve you, your families, and your neighbors when it matters most.

Today is about progress, partnership, and a shared commitment to public safety. We are proud to stand watch and honored to serve.

Busier than ever.

In 2025, as our community continued to grow, so did the demand on our firefighters and paramedics. The year reflected a sustained increase in call volume, meaning our members responded more often, worked harder, and spent more time serving our residents.

Behind every number is a highly trained IAFF Local 4092 member answering the call day and night, weekends and holidays.

Members of L4092, along with the incredible support of our community, came together to fill 20 boxes of donated items for Cal's Angels. These donations will go directly to families battling pediatric cancer, helping provide comfort, support, and hope during an incredibly difficult time.

This afternoon, members of Local 4092 visited our newest Project Fire Buddy, Evan! During this visit our members delivered gifts and wished him a happy 3rd birthday. Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to support our community and bring a little joy to families when it matters most.

Today marks the 48th anniversary of the most somber day in Schaumburg Fire Department history.

On this day in 1977, Firefighter Anthony Gallo lost his life in the line of duty. While responding to a call, Ladder Company 1 swerved to avoid a vehicle that had spun out on ice, causing the apparatus to flip and roll down an embankment near Higgins Road and Meacham Road. Firefighter Gallo suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Local 4092 and the Schaumburg Fire Department will always honor the memory and service of Firefighter Anthony Gallo. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Gallo family.
