Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, NY We create connections, empowering the entire Autism community with the resources needed to live fully

The Autism Society Greater Hudson Region is a collective of individuals dedicated to providing resources and opportunities to individuals with autism and their families in the 21 counties we serve. Our board, staff, and volunteers include individuals with Autism, family members, and professionals who work with ASD populations. Our mission: We create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. We act as a voice and resource for everyone who interacts with the Autism community in the Greater Hudson Region. Locally, we are developing new programming and services to provide more support to our autism community. Statewide, we will be the driving force behind the development of a network of resources that promotes quality of life and opportunities for positive social experiences. Our Community

Visit our friends at Parker’s Perfect Soaps at the Rensselaer High School Craft Fair on Saturday, 3/21/26.

Hey it’s Parker again!

Just a reminder that I will be at the Rensselaer High School Craft & Vendor Fair with my soaps!

YES… the good soaps! 🧼

The ones that:
• smell really good
• don’t dry your skin out
• make your bathroom feel fancy

I make all my soaps with goat milk and I spent a lot of time picking the scents (this is a very important job)

If you come find my table you can:
🫧 smell everything (highly recommended)
🫧 pick your favorite
🫧 get gifts so you don’t have to panic later
🫧 help me not have 1,000 soaps in my house

📅 Saturday March 21
⏰ 10–3
📍 Rensselaer High School

Also, the Easter Bunny is going to be there which is cool but do they have soap?

NO!

So, you should come see me instead!

The FASNY Museum of Firefighting and Autism Society Greater Hudson Region are working together to gauge public interest in a sensory friendly hour on a Saturday or Sunday from 9:00AM-10:00AM.

The hour would provide an opportunity for people to experience the museum with sensory needs in mind. This would include reduced volume on interactive displays, reduced lighting, and a quiet space to use as needed during your visit. The museum provides many interactive displays that provide hands on learning experiences throughout the museum. These include, visual, textural, and movement opportunities. Climb on board multiple firetrucks, try on equipment, and meet Molly the Museum Dog, a certified therapy dog.

If you are not finished seeing the museum during the sensory friendly hour, you can stay and continue to explore after the museum opens to the general public. We look forward to getting your response. Please feel free to visit their website to see what the museum has to offer. The link to the museum is: https://fasnyfiremuseum.com/

During last week's BRIGHT session, we focused on developing coping strategies. Each participant devised a personal coping mechanism and presented it within a decorative frame for future reference.

The practice of proactively planning for our future well-being has been a recurring theme. This initiative aims to equip us with the necessary tools to navigate unforeseen challenges effectively.
