The Autism Society Greater Hudson Region is a collective of individuals dedicated to providing resources and opportunities to individuals with autism and their families in the 21 counties we serve. Our board, staff, and volunteers include individuals with Autism, family members, and professionals who work with ASD populations. Our mission: We create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism c

ommunity with the resources needed to live fully. We promote lifelong access and opportunities for people on the Autism spectrum and their families, so they can be fully participating, included members of their communities. We do this through advocacy, public awareness, education, and compassionate support. Our vision: Creating a world where everyone in the Autism community is connected to the support they need, when they need it. We act as a voice and resource for everyone who interacts with the Autism community in the Greater Hudson Region. Locally, we are developing new programming and services to provide more support to our autism community. Statewide, we will be the driving force behind the development of a network of resources that promotes quality of life and opportunities for positive social experiences. Our Community
The Autism Society Greater Hudson Region is dedicated to serving the needs of the Autism community in the Greater Hudson Region of Eastern, New York. We are often the first point of contact for families that are new to this area and looking for resources. Through our own programming and referral to other local organizations, we help people on the autism spectrum and their families feel supported and find caring communities. We serve the following 21 counties in the Greater Hudson Region of New York State:

The Canadians are coming! (And it's so cool). :) Casselman, Ontario's Eric Jean-Louis is confirmed for the The 4th Annual Upstate Chevy Dealers Autism Acceptance Race at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, NY on September 5th. The Cornwall Motor Speedway and Mohawk International Raceway regular will take the trek across the border to battle against some of the Northeast's best. We’re proud to offer a more inclusive fair experience with dedicated Sensory Safe Hours to support individuals with autism and sensory sensitivities.

🕙 Wednesday – Sunday | 10 AM – 11 AM: Quiet fairgrounds time — no rides operating

🕚 Wednesday & Thursday | 11 AM – 12 NOON: Rides available without flashing lights or loud music*

🎧 Noise-canceling headphones and calming resources available at the Sensory Safe Space

Earlier this week Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, NY Executive Director, Tracy Schober and Board Member, Kendra Mesko presented to a group in the Capital Region. This session included an introduction to SEPTA, IEPs, 504s, and The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA).

Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, NY visited the Saratoga County Fair for today’s ThinkDIFFERENTLY Day. Thank you Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh for supporting inclusion and ThinkDIFFERENTLY.

If you are heading to the fair this week there are some sensory experiences in several places.

Stop by the Conservation building and experience the sand table by Saratoga County Soil & Water.

If you’re looking for sensory activities and quiet seating visit the Townley Building. Stop by the Cornell Cooperative Extension booth.

Drive a Robot in the Joy and Bill Wolsey 4H Education and Exhibit Center with team members from the Saratoga County 4H Robotics.

These are just a few of the inclusive and sensory friendly activities available everyday at the fair.
