Some people think leadership is about being the most important person in the room. In my experience, the opposite is true.

The leaders who earn genuine respect are the ones who give it first — to everyone.
Especially the people who aren’t in the spotlight… the ones doing the daily work that holds everything together:

The receptionist.
The direct support professional.
The substitute teacher.
The warehouse crew.
The front desk staff.
The intern learning the ropes.
The newest person who’s still figuring it all out.

Status doesn’t determine someone’s value. The impact of your behavior does.

So here’s a quick self-check for today:
▪ Who depended on me?
▪ Did I make their load lighter or heavier?
▪ Did my power lift someone up or hold them down?

The answers are the truth about our leadership. Not our résumés. Not our titles. Not the car we drive.

Let’s lead so that those who rely on us most can rely on us with confidence.
