Look at the child in this video. She is right there, but she is invisible to the digital wall her parents have built. When we prioritize our screens, we "log out" of our child's world—and they feel every second of that silence.

What NOT to do:

The Digital Barrier: Don't let your phone become a wall between you and your child.

Passive Listening: Don't give "uh-huh" answers while scrolling. Your child learns that their voice is less important than your feed.

Missing the Signal: Don't ignore the quiet moments when your child is waiting for you to look up.

Effective Communication with your child:

Eyes Up: When your child speaks, put the device down and meet their gaze.

Be Present: Active communication requires your full attention, not just your physical presence in the room.

Engage: Language skills are built through interaction, not observation. Talk with your child, not just around them.
